£25,000 cover on every move. Optional uplift to £100,000 or more. Here's exactly what's covered.
What's included by default
- £25,000 goods-in-transit insurance per consignment
- Inventory signed at collection and delivery
- Pre-existing damage noted at collection so there's no dispute later
- All-perils transit cover (loss, theft, accidental damage, fire)
What's NOT covered
- Cash, currency, debit/credit cards
- Jewellery or watches over £500 in declared value
- Original artwork over £10,000 in declared value
- Documents (passports, deeds, certificates)
- Perishable food
- Live animals or plants
- Hazardous materials
- Damage from inadequate self-packing
Higher insurance limits
- £50,000 cover: included free for moves quoted over £2,000
- £100,000 cover: 1% of declared total value, on request
- £100,000+: ask at quote stage
The claims process
- 1. Notify us within 7 days of delivery, by email, with photos.
- 2. We acknowledge within 1 working day.
- 3. We compare against the collection inventory and assess the claim.
- 4. Where the claim is valid, payout from the GIT insurance within 28 days.
Common questions
Are you regulated?
Yes — VAT-registered, BAR-affiliated (when membership confirmed), GIT insurance underwritten by our insurer.
What is the maximum cover I can buy?
No fixed maximum. We can underwrite up to £250,000 in-house and refer above that.
Does insurance cover items left in storage at your Belfast warehouse?
Yes — same GIT cover applies in storage as in transit.
Does the cover include the loading and unloading process?
Yes — door-to-door is fully covered.
